OHIO DEPARTMENT OF ALCOHOL & DRUG
ADDICTION SERVICES
Managed Care Marketing for Prevention
Conwal is developing a managed care marketing plan for violence, alcohol,
and drug prevention program providers for the State of Ohio Department
of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS). The plan is designed
to prepare prevention providers to integrate services into a managed care
environment. Conwal will train providers in the implementation of marketing
strategies, pilot the program in selected counties, and evaluate the results.
Specifically, Conwal provides the following
services:
- Conducts market research on the health
promotion capacity, activities, and interests of managed care entities
serving Ohio residents.
- Develops marketing strategies for HMOs
and medical providers serving public and private clients for the provision
of violence, alcohol and other drug prevention services through public/private
sector providers within a managed care environment.
- Designs pilots for the marketing strategies
within identified areas. Conducts training with the pilot providers.
- Monitors implementation of pilots and
provides ongoing technical assistance.
- Evaluates the pilot:
Develops database for collection of study data. Tabulates and interprets
findings of the pilots.
Adjusts strategies, if necessary, based on pilot findings.
Prepares comprehensive written reports on the findings of the pilots.
Provides oral presentation of findings.
- Conducts five regional trainings of the marketing strategies to selected
local violence, alcohol and other drug service providers, their respective
Boards, and ODADAS staff.
