SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
SSA Case Management/Training
The Social Security Administration (SSA) selected Conwal to assist in
testing a new pilot program called Project Network. The project provided
comprehensive case management rehabilitation services and training to
people with disabilities who received or had applied for Social Security
Disability Income (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and who
presented different rehabilitation and return to work challenges.
Conwal's extensive experience in the field
of disability management and training enabled its personnel to help the
SSA implement their first model in Dallas, Texas. Conwal provided SSA
with Field Consultants who were experts in the field of vocational rehabilitation.
These Field Consultants acted as mentors and provided extensive training,
both formal and on-the-job, in such areas as the medical aspects of disability,
vocational assessment/career development, individualized employment plans,
job placement, interviewing skills/resume development, and case management
techniques and follow-up procedures. Conwal was responsible for all curriculum
development, training materials, training delivery, and the coordination
of guest speakers.
By providing comprehensive case management
services, the goal of this project was to provide the population with
disabilities with the necessary resources and services to return to gainful,
productive employment. |
